Biography

I have been extensively trained in psychodynamic, CBT, Dialectical behavior therapy, Interpersonal techniques, substance use and Seeking Safety treatment, but I tailor each person’s treatment to their individual needs. I have a clinical and research background in treating trauma survivors, but I treat people across the clinical spectrum. I speak English and Hebrew fluently. Practice information I work privately with adults and teenagers in individual and couples psychotherapy. I specialize in trauma and DBT. I also run three private groups, including a Seeking Safety group and a therapeutic writing group, both for women with trauma histories and a group for gay men with trauma histories. The gay men's group provides a homogeneous group where gay men can safely address how their past trauma experiences affect their interpersonal relationships today. It uses Seeking Safety as a structure (a protocol developed by Lisa Najavits at Harvard for addressing trauma).

Other Information
I also run a Seeking safety group for women with trauma histories who are just starting out in their trauma treatment. Initially, I help empower the client to regain control, help them identify cues of who, what and where are safe, and teach coping skills. Later stages are remembrance, mourning, and reconnection. The therapist is both “witness and ally” and I help the client face the devastation inflicted by the trauma and/or substance use. I then support the client’s efforts to create a new life.
