Ms. Heaphy specializes in the treatment of interpersonal difficulties, depression, anxiety, addiction and life change issues. Her training includes the most contemporary and relevant treatment techniques, including CBT, DBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy. She has been licensed and practicing since 1994, and has pursued a wide breadth of education and training reflecting her interests in relationship, trauma and attachment issues. Specific trauma specialties include; childhood sexual/physical/psychological abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.
She previously provided specialized individual and group therapy, supervision and training for a Rape Crisis and Victims of Violence Program at a Manhattan hospital for domestic violence, sexual abuse, rape and 9/11 survivors.
Afterwhich, she continued her post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy which propelled her into private practice in Manhattan and Rockland County where she offers adult, adolescent, couples and family therapy.
