Someone posted on another forum here:
" The uncertainty of Life is not a reward or a torture. It is, ironically, probably the only certainty of Life. That and the fact that someday it will be over.
Until then, you can think of Life as a Joy or a Job. A gift or a test. "

It kind of freaked me out because before I logged on to the site I was writing something about our lives being considered "gifts" from God. This is what I was writing:

There might be a higher power -- a God. But what leads us to believe that our own reasons for doing what we choose to do are any less important than that higher power's reasons? Merry Christmas everybody! Here is a gift for you from the higher power: it's your existence! It is insulting to a gift-giver to throw away your gift. But, if by throwing it away, the gift-giver, because he is able to, punishes the rude recipient by sentencing them to Hell or some other similar existence of punitive suffering, is it really a "gift" at all?

The idea that Jesus is truly living within me makes me claustrophobic.

In the name of the Anger, and of the Sadness, and of the Unholy Fear. Amen.
