I can’t hear the words.

I can see pictures -
frozen flashes devoid of color
like flipping pages quickly
in some dark photoalbum.

or like a gif videoclip
repeating endlessly –
an indelible few seconds
continuing to infinity.

mouths are moving
and flesh hits against flesh -

but there’s no sound.

someone pushed the mutebutton
the onlything I hear is wordless echos -
a deafening silence ringing
like an amplified seashell.

were the words really worse
than what I sawandfelt –
so bad that I had to delete them?
or maybe it was alltoomuch and
audio was the easiest part to block.
