Hi guys. Glad to hear others here are into the show. I agree that slow moving zombies are cooler when it comes to movies and TV shows but I think that if you were in a real life zombie situation, running and climbing zombies would be a lot worse and a lot scarier. Just sayin'.

Why is the Governor a monster for keeping his zombie daughter as a pet but Michonne is a badass ninja hero who gets a free pass on keeping her zombie brothers as pets? And yes, the ritual combat with defanged zombies IS a harmless catharsis for the survivors of trauma.

But no, instead let's drive all the guards away and truck all those children and senior citizens into a PRISON with its ENTIRE REAR WALL BURNED OUT, so that they'll barely get the chance to complain about sleeping in prison beds and never seeing sunlight before they get eaten.

Excuse my nerd rant. I'll still watch the show anyway.

LOL! Interesting analysis. I will say that Michonne has annoyed me at times with her over-the-top badass attitude and her seemingly emotionless warrior persona. I still think she's pretty cool though and the character has grown on me. To be fair to Michonne, she did cut down her "walker pets" the very second it became necessary to do so and didn't have a second thought about it. You can't say the same thing about the Governor. Can't say I have the same sympathy for the Governor that you do but I guess I can see some of your points.

Other than that, Rick has annoyed me at times with his stubbornness and hardheadedness. I am glad he seems to be turning into a little less of a control freak though. Also, Hershel sometimes irks me a little for the opposite reason of Michonne. That being, I think he's sometimes a little bit to much of a pacifist/pussy. If he were in charge they would have tried to appease the walkers somehow and have all been dead by now. I thought the same thing about Dale once but..... oh well.... poor Dale.

***SPOILERS BELOW***

Ok, so for last weeks episode.....

Why did that crazy bitch feel it necessary to kill herself in front of Rick? She could have just let him leave then done it, or have not done it and tried to come with him, or have simply killed herself in the first place without going out to find someone to do it in front of. And how the hell did she manage to stay alive for three years with only one other person to protect her, and no solid place to hold up? Honestly, that woman and her place in the story was kind of unnecessary I thought. Seems like a part of the story-line that you would have seen in the deleted scenes menu on the season DVD or something. Whatever.... I still really liked the episode.

Did anyone else notice that Carl, in his dealings with the other kids, seems to have taken on his father's tendencies of being bossy and dictatorial? I suppose the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

So, now we are left to wonder what killed that pig, and what killed Carl's little nerd friend. Is something about the virus going airborne? Is it something in the water supply? Of course the pig didn't become a little piggy-walker and not everyone is sick, so that would seem to rule out the water supply. Could the Governor have something to do with it? Could the dude who got his leg caught under the wine shelf during the scene where the walkers were falling through the ceiling be a governor operative and have something to do with it? Questions that will be answered soon, I suppose. Peace,

Ken

PS. The store in the scene with walkers dropping through the ceiling had cases of beer from Georgia-based micro brews everywhere! Sweetwater IPA and Terrapin Rye Pale Ale all over the place. Great stuff! All that quality brew gone to waste. If I had been in there, I would have risked getting eaten to run out with a case of it. Especially the IPA. grin

Ok, I'm almost surprised this hasn't been discussed here yet. Was anyone else blown away and/or majorly triggered by the scene where Carl was almost raped in the last episode of the season? I couldn't believe my eyes. I couldn't even be sure at first that the man who was on top of Carl was planning on raping him. I thought to myself, "Was that guy a child rapist, or do I just think that because I was projecting my own CSA issues onto the scene?" I actually had to call a friend of mine the next day and ask if she got the impression that the man was a child rapist and she confirmed that she had gotten that from the scene as well and that so did her friend who she was watching it with.

Then, I checked out TWD discussion forum and people were discussing it there as well. Apparently, according to people on the forum, in the comic it is made much more obvious that the guy is planing on raping Carl. He still doesn't succeed, (thank god), but less is left to the imagination regarding the man's intentions and he even has Carl's pants off before Rick saves the day. Here is the discussion on that forum....

Rape Scene Discussion

I suppose I can't say that the scene was "triggering" for me necessarily, but then my CSA issues didn't/don't involve forcible rape. I was shocked though and it left me feeling disturbed. I suppose while I can't say I was "triggered" by the scene, I can say it did bring up my CSA issues in a way, because the mere discussion of CSA tends to do that, regardless of the dynamic between the perp and the victim in the situation at hand. I can only image how triggering that scene must have been for some of us though, because I know that some of us went through exactly what almost happened to Carl on the show, only in real life.

Anyway, rape and sexual abuse issues aside, I was also very worried about Carl right before he got in line to get on that train car. When everyone else was lined up but Carl was just standing out there by himself, and the camera focused on him for a few seconds of hanging tension, I was SO afraid they were going to shoot him for some reason. I was very relieved when he got on the train car safely. Well, safely for now anyway.

So, the gang is all back together and locked up in a train car, not knowing what these people want from them. Any theories? Are the Terminus people some kind of weird cult? Are they Cannibals? Or both? Or something else? I'm going to say there is a cultish aspect of Terminus because of that room with all the candles. The Cannibal thing seems to make sense as well though for a number of reasons. If you have read the comic and you know the answer, please don't fuck it up for us and tell us though. Ha ha! smile Peace,

Ken
