Child abuse was a major risk factor. Almost half the people who killed themselves in the survey had been either sexually or physically abused as children compared with just over one-quarter of the comparison group. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/08/13/11-year-old-suicide-nunavut_n_3749623.html
A study on the problem: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/nati...article4426600/
A somewhat intelligent comment section (for a change!):I grew up in the eastern arctic in one of these communities and it was one of the best places on earth to grow up. Inuit still practice traditional ways and yes the mortality rates are unacceptable but that has more to do with a legacy of trauma and child sexual abuse that began when the missionaries and other colonial forces came here. http://jmortonmusings.blogspot.com/2012/07/death-suicide-rates-among-inuit-kids.html

I come here now, and I see lots of anger.
I don't blame anyone for that. It is perfectly understandable.
But it is not healthy for me.
So I'm going somewhere else.
Goodbye and good healing.
