......he kidnapped a boy at gunpoint, handcuffed him, and raped him twice. That's only worth 7-12 years??? That's not worth being shanked to death in prison at least???

You'd think the firearm charge alone would earn him more time than that.

Soccerstar, I did some research. No mention of a gun. He was sentenced in 2000 to 13 years. It is now 2013. Now, what tells you how dangerous they believe he is...he served 100% of his time. There is a lot of truth to the argument that they have to live somewhere.

Now, that being said, if this guy is that dangerous, he will just have to live with people knowing who he is and what he did. If that means he takes beatings, than those are consequences of his actions. I am not sure I am on board with our government being given the power to put someone away just because anything. The reason is that given the power with pedophiles, government will do what government always does...expand its powers. Forcible abduction and rape should have a longer sentence than 20 years. That is what I would focus on.

The article said the boy was fishing and the perp approached him under the pretext of shooting at bottles with his rifle. There was a gun on his person during the crime - since he's a kidnapper and rapist, it's safely implicit that the gun or at least the threat of it was used in the crime.
