(I can't watch the links...but I'm guessing the theme of the reports....)
Through my activism, I've learned a horrid reality. Its common as dirt and beyond mind-fking. The truth: That drug-addicted parents, low on money and/or a fix, will trade an hour/weekend/whatever with their child in return for the drugs-n-money.
One case came somewhat close to home, in that my best friend's niece was exploited in this way. The police were after the drug arrests, but discovered this one heavy-user's son and daughter in the apartment. They were drugged, naked, drunk and watching porn. They were about 8 & 9 yo. My friend's niece was in that apartment a lot.
In these cases, the children generally don't get treated well by the authorities. Rather, they become a tangent to the parent's criminal charges. There is frequently no ER visit for a rape-kit. There's no emergency counseling. There's no Victim-Sensitivity protocol followed by CPS.
I wish the list of states that suck were short, but it can actually be ANY state. There's simply a pall over the rape-for-money children...ESPECIALLY the boys.
ECPAT deals with this globally. In other countries, the child is charged as a prostitute and punished as such.
I'm "that guy."
