Beth Hart is something indeed! I had never heard of her either until I got the Joe Bonamassa live at Beacon Theater. After that I was like you--gotta have more Beth! I bought the Live at Paradiso but was disappointed, not in the music but the fact that she couldn't seem to get through a song without dropping the F-bomb. I know at that time she was only 16 months sober and was in a transitional period. Believe me, I'm no prude but for me the language really detracts from her massive talent. It just adds nothing to the music. Her look is more polished now since she and JB hooked up and so is his. Her vocals are still as powerful and raw but being sober seems to have allowed her more control over those wonderful pipes. Either way she is one talented lady who has really been put through the wringer and came out clean on the other side. Her story is very inspirational, at least for wifey and me.
Since we are talking about feel good songs here's a bittersweet memory for me from 1972. Let's see if we can spot the over 50's in the thread! Anyone remember Mouth & MacNeal? It's a goofy song I know but I remember it from a time in my childhood when I was still happy and innocent, just before the csa started. The song makes me smile but it also makes me long for a time when I didn't know the things I know now.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QXyqk9flwk&feature=player_detailpage
I don't ask for much, I only want trust,
and you know it don't come easy.
They flutter behind you, your possible pasts;
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost...
And strung out behind us the banners and flags
of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags.
