Hey Gary, well we knew that you are not crazy already wink
Just kidding!

There is something in validation and acceptance when seeing it written in paper, black and white.
It is kind of acknowledgment for those who were responsible and who caused damage and stress making you living in fears while you should be child and thinking on games, school and friends; it is confirmation how destructive and toxic they were. It is their terrible legacy and I should say their "diagnosis".

You put it nicely:
"there's something wrong with me but there's not something wrong with me"

Well "they" were that wrong thing around you...

I hope this will help you with your journey, it is time to move to breasts, ups, sorry sick , to your further healing

((((Gary))))

I can still remember when I was given an official diagnosis... Yes, in a way it confirms that "something is wrong with you", but at the same time it also says - someone understands what is wrong with me. It is legitimate, I'm not just a drama queen. There are others like me. It is ok to feel the way I do...

I've had to deal with a lot of stigma over the years due to my BPD dx, but I won't give up the affirmation I got from knowing I have a legitimate disorder, to get rid of it.

Gary,
It's great that you have finally been approved for disability. This will make healing a lot better when your finances are less of a worry. When you posted this, I remembered a quote from the famous theoricial physicist Dr. Sheldon Cooper, in response to mocking about his quirks that people don't understand and the suspicion that he is crazy "I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested"

Gary - anyone who has read your writing or witnessed your compassionate reaching out to countless guys on these forums or watched and listened to your impassioned youtube speeches or observed with admiration your repeated attempts and triumphs to overcome your fears and become involved in the wider world by supporting causes you believe in and volunteering to help young people - would NEVER even think or suggest that you are crazy!

i am so happy for you that you have this validation - and hopefully - some practical help and care available?

if you were crazy - then the world needs more crazies like you!
