Will - we have our decorations all up. i was sweating in 90-degree heat while stringing lights on our balcony. we can see the tops of palm trees from our 2nd-floor flat. in a setting like this - you gotta think "Bethlehem" rather than "North Pole"!
Gary - go for it! whatyever you do, just make it different from what was in the past. one year we went to a movie on Christmas day. this year we will go to the beach. breaking the old patterns and associations is good. even if it means sleeping in and doing nothing - as long as you are doing it on purpose - not because you feel neglected or whatever. just be kind to yourself.
