The first step in fixing a difficult situation is believing that things will change. The mind is a very powerful thing. People have been cured of diseases just by believing that they were going to aka "the placebo effect". The autonomic nervous system, also known as the fight or flight nervous system, which controls our internal experience and sense of self, becomes shutdown and frozen when we are traumatized, but it was literally designed to heal itself, the only thing standing in its way is the mind. Simply believing and trusting that things can change goes along way in making that happen. There is no worse feeling on earth then feeling like there is no hope and that you will feel so hurt and damaged the rest of your life. But things will never change as long as the believe that they wont is there.
Believe,
Nick

Well said Nick,

Hope, the knowledge and perhaps even the experience of beneficial change, that is very satisfying. A good description, a great reminder!

Thanks, I believe!
