Mirror, mirror catches shock
At eerie turns of the clock

Mirror, mirror you I fear
After a shower an image is near

Mirror, mirror must you enrage
Trying to rip another page

Mirror, mirror you may be shattered
From a tired body so utterly tattered

Mirror, mirror vapors must fog
Hiding away this shivering dog

Mirror, mirror coming to taunt
Reminds me of each past haunt

Mirror, mirror in the dark
Keeping away my torn bark...

Egads!!! Yikes!!! Run!!!

"Mirror, mirror in the dark"
Shiver me timbers
I do remembers.

Hi John,
Simple but expressive.
Like the Eveready Bunny, we keep paying and paying and paying - the consequences of our traumas.

simple form yet very effective, I enjoyed it and can totally relate. Personally I have given up on myself ever being able to look into the mirror without a deep sense of dread and the pit in the stomach.

A mirror can be your best frioend, or your worst enemy, this is one thing that is up to how we feel at the moment, if we are feeling good ab out things, or even ourselves we can get something good out of it, and the opposite is quite true as well.

I hope that you can soon heal enough to be able to look into the mirror and see the true you.

Peace to all,
Poet24

It would be interesting to look back and see how many guys have looked at this idea of the mirror in their poems. I guess it's because we remember hating the idea of looking at ourselves in the mirror when we were boys. There were times I could hardly bear to do it.

Much love,
Larry
