i saw an abused child today - maybe he was 3 or so -

his father let him use the stall in the rest room - the child was fascinated by the flush -

and the father pulled him nearly knocking him off balance -

it didn't seem right - it reminded me of me - at that age - fatigued - brittle unsure - and easy to push - and shock -

i rushed out of the washroom - and sure enough -

the mother with the daughter - and her husband were dropping the son off in daycare - at the home show - and the daughter went with them -

the son moving very careful and slowly - with a grey look and sort of a smile - just of denial towards his seat to watch the television at a table all alone -

that's me!

and then the woman spewed venom - taking all her anger out at that little guy - the daycare worker looked at them in fear -

the father fed off the negativity towards a lesser -

so gross -

it reminds me of what dad said recently - he thinks he is good to me -

he said - mark sometimes your so smart it's scary

- i should have said -
dad sometimes you are so dumb and unconscious it's scary -

this poor kid - moving so slow and fatigued - and careful -

alone.

poor angel guy.

Mark,

Yes, unfortunately the world is still full of those little guys. But hopefully the world they grow up into will be one in which they will be able to find the help they need and trust it enough to reach out for it.

Much love,
Larry

Mark, my father attended my college graduation, he said and I quote, "I still wish you had gone on and gotten a Dr. in front of your name." That I will never forget.

Might I add this is coming from the same guy that encouraged me to look at porn and get laid as soon as possible.

I think he was scared I would become homosexual after the SA but in some ways I just think he was sick.

Mark,

When we make progress it is always our victory, but when we make it against the dead weight of the attitudes of people who should have helped us, it's doubly victorious. \:\) Well done.

Much love,
Larry

Just another dysfunctional family.
There are many I know who treat their kids badly.
Then I see them maybe acting out at preteen age, but nothing can be done.

It is sad when ppl treat a child this way, and make him feel vulnerable and miserable, then he tries to smild as kids wanna do, but he is not able to even be able to trust himself to do that,

Mark,

If assistance comes with the implicit proviso that it's going to be thrown back in your face later on, then it's not help at all. It's manipulation.

As it stands now, as you yourself say, all the victories are yours. If I were in your place I would be VERY happy in that knowledge.

Much love,
Larry

Mark,

I agree with Larry. You are a super guy. You've reached some important milestones, and you have yourself to thank for it.

Go Mark.

Lots of love,

John

Today I think having unconscious parents as a gift as that made me conscious.
