Have not seen it, but will look for it.

You have to watch, "When Andrew came home", you will cry your eyes out watching that kid at the end of the story when his Mom says she has searched for years for him, and even slept with his bear.

I is based on a true story,

Adam,

Absolutely. I thought it was an excellent film, and the ending is just amazing. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Much love,
Larry

Ironically, I think that my very first post here to MS was in the Books, Music and Films DB and as I recall I wrote about the part where Helen Hunt tracks down her homeless/alcoholic mom and has a heart to heart conversation with her. VERY powerful film.

I watch it every now and then. Used to watch it in my classes at school as a "reward" movie. Always cried, and that was BEFORE my memories started coming back. Always been a movie crier, but can see now that those triggers made a lot of sense. There's another really good one about a small kid and a really big kid in Cincinnati. Can't remember the name of that one. But it has some serious lessons to teach as well. If anyone knows the name of that one, let me know. I'd like to watch that one again, also.

Not sure, Hauser. I think "My Bodyguard" was a much more popular movie than the one I'm thinking of, but on a similar theme. Don't know, however, and it just might be the one. Thanks.

Trev,

"Pay It Forward" is a really emotional film and quite good. The ending is a real test - I think hardly anyone could resist falling into tears over it.

Much love,
Larry

Kurt,

The film is about a young teenager who has a school project to think of something that would "make a difference" in the world. So he thinks of the idea of doing a few really major good deeds for people he doesn't even know, but telling them that in order to repay him they should "pay it forward", that is, do a few really major good deeds themselves. He is mocked in class, but what no one knows is that the idea is already catching on.

Much love,
Larry

That movie makes me cry every time I see it. I really loved the ending when the town came out to show there support for his mom and how the news was reporting on just how big the pay it forward idea has gone. It's a good one to watch when I "need" to cry.

Talk about a tear jerker... I saw World Trade Center last night. Left me feeling very angry but inspired. Cried like a baby along with everyone else in the theatre.

i think the thing about it to remember is it really can work ,m. s . is like a perfect example of pay it forward, people helping other people ,people who they they dont even know ,for no other reason than it feels good to help ,no reward expected ,no charges to be paid ,no bill in the mail ,just people caring about each other cause it feels good ,thats pay it forward. adam

Adam,

yes, paying it forward is what society is all about, just being nice or doing a good deed does not need repayment.

I have had many bad deeds put before me as man and child, and believe me, each one took its toll.

I never hurt anyone, but ppl tend to hurt the ppl they love which makes no sense.
We live in a society which says, look after yrself before others.

Paying things forward makes you a good man, and that is all you need in life,

ste
