Gary Glitter sex tourist extraordinaire pays out money to his victims for a lighter sentence.

If he did this in a western country, then he would be given a harsh sentence, seems like he will do anything to save his sorry ass.

I hope he enjoyed his christmas dinner of a bowl of rice, and hope he can spend many more of them behind bars.

There is no doubt in my mind that he has had sex with little girls, and paying money to poverty stricken families should not keep them from silence against his moves.

I hope the prosecutors opt for a trial on the higher charges or at least give him plenty of time locked up for a lengthy period.

They need to tell other western sex tourists that they are stamping down on it, what better tool do they have at their disposal.

His days of traversing the far east are at an end, he will have nowhere to go next, read it here.

Ste,

I can hardly bear even to comment. It's a travesty of justice that this notorious pedophile gets to roam the Third World openly seeking out children. In fact, I thought he had already been locked up somewhere else.

To those of you that do not know this. Gary Glitter was a recording artist for the Bell Record label, so too was one of my abusers Jonathan King who recorded under assumed names like "The Piglets", another asscociated with the label was Derek Longmuir the ex drummer for the Bay City Rollers, convicted a few years ago for downloading child pornography, they also recorded for Bell and they were managed by a guy named Tam Paton who is also a convicted perp, overall this lot were promoted by my original abuser ex BBC radio One DJ Chris Denning who was head of promotions at Bell.

One other thing they all have in common (except for Glitter) they all attended the Walton Hop teen disco in Surrey during the early to mid seventies...coincidence? I think not.

If you wish to know more of this obscene setup visited my blog at:

Kirk,

Just another word of thanks for your prominent role in exposing this sick setup. Many of us, including me, only know the story in fragments as they come up here and there, but it looks like there was a systematic effort by these guys to lure and abuse teenaged boys wherever they could be found.

I'll have a look at your blog. Thanks for the link.

Much love,
Larry

Glitter paid these families £1000 each to stop the girls testifying against him.

A sum like that is equivalent to 2-3 years salary.

Apparently it is not uncommon for these deals to be made, and certainly not against the law.

Jackson did the same thing with one boy, so it can happen pretty much anywhere.
Jackson had not been arraigned by the courts at the time.

I hope glitter gets a long sentence, he will then be deported to the UK to face the courts on why he did not stick to offender rules.

I hope he gets some time here, and be supervised for life,

Row over UK's refusal to name paedophile tourists

THE British government has been accused of hypocrisy over claims it has refused to release lists of child sex offenders to other countries.

The row erupted after it was revealed today that glam rock star Gary Glitter had child sex charges reduced after paying-off poor Vietnamese families.

Sudarat Sereewat, secretary general of the Thai-based Coalition to Fight Child Exploitation, said Britain was hypocritical in its approach to child sex tourism - and that Glitter could soon be free to molest children in neighbouring countries.

"We have asked Britain time and time again to provide us lists of their child sex offenders. They refuse. But they give the paedophiles passports to travel abroad," said Ms. Sudarat, Thailand's leading campaigner against trafficking in children for sex.

"The British police forces have teams travelling Asia giving local police training in how to catch paedophiles. This is well meaning but little more than useless if they know who the paedophiles are and refuse to tell us.

"The circumstances surrounding the Gary Glitter case are not unusual. In almost all these cases people associated with the case make money. First there are the families who would much rather take money that let their children go through a justice system that they do not trust.

"Gary Glitter, or Paul Gadd, could now easily obtain bail and choose to run here. But there is nothing we can do to stop him without an official report on him from the British authorities".

Glitter's lawyer, Le Than Kinh, said the former star has admitted paying $2000 each to the families of two Vietnamese girls, aged 11 and 12, who had accused him of coercing them into sex.

"The parents have since written to police asking for a reduced sentence for Glitter," he said

I have never been to SE Asia, but students in the Department of Thai Studies at our Asia Africa Institute say that when they go there they are shocked at how open and widespread the sex tourism trade is. You can hardly walk from A to B without being offered access to sex with children of either sex.

It sounds to me like the complaint of Sudarat is a bit hollow. With this trade flourishing all over the place, surely they don't need a list of convicted pedophiles from one Western country in order to take steps against it.

My cynical mind wonders if the real factor isn't the big bucks involved in Western tourism for countries in this part of the world.

I personally think that all Governments only give lip service to the problem.
They know it goes on, but do not bother to do anything to catch the offenders.

The amount of sex trafficing that goes on globally is beyond belief, but not difficult to see why.
The Eastern bloc is the magnet closest to Europe.

Families will even sell their own children to these gangs to make enough to just live.

I have just read that a town on the Czech/German border has houses with teddies in the window, which means pedophile friendly, with blue curtains for a boy, and pink for a girl prostitute.

The end of the slave trade was brought about by one man in this country, if we can somehow do it by shaming the Governments then so be it.

It is time to make as much a pain in the butt to them as is needed to make them act, and it will be slow and painful to do.

Let us show them the pain and hurt, and loss of decent life that these kids and families endure, because they just dont get it,

This shocks me beyond words. I sit here stunned, but at the same time I'm glad I have seen this. That this can happen shows that there is no limit to the evil of the world.

Could not agree more

Here is something I posted on my blog after the recent BBC documentary "Come Home Gary Glitter".

I watched one of the most disturbing documentaries the night before last (05/12/2005). Entitled “Come Home Gary Glitter” It will go down in history as perhaps the best sex tourists guide to south east Asia there has ever been, whilst watching I had the thought of child abusers scribbling little notes into their laptops for future reference, where to go, who to meet and who to steer well clear of. I had originally planned to watch this and I can only describe it as pro paedophile propaganda to see what one of my abusers lawyers had to say, I was not at all surprised when Jonathan King made an appearance, making references to fourteen and fifteen year old boys and then quickly remembering what he had just said on camera and bringing the so called interview to an end although still using the media to harrass his victims.

He has been asked on his website what he thought of the program and his reply was somewhat typical, I quote:

“Flippant Faux Naive approach not suited to now very serious situation, I felt

Author: JK, Dec/6/2005 13:25:41

and all the obvious points... was the orphanage person as innocent as he protested? Was that copper really straight? Why wasn't Max asked about his News of the World/trial involvement? Where the judge had a lot to say.

Still, it was worth watching if only to see Max swallow that fly. I thought it was shit flies were attracted to”.

As per usual King deflected any serious questions, a’la the Jon Ronson documentary "The Double Life Of Jonathan King", by concentrating on others and how hard done by he is. That besides the two filmmakers Joel Wilson and Jamie Campbell knew they were onto a winner, swanning around the world at the licence payers expense, picking up little clues here and there and then showing us just how easy it is to pick up or loan for a couple of days underage children for sex.

This was the most disturbing part of their film making exploits. It was incredibly stupid showing just how inept the authorities in Cambodia were with dealing with sex tourists. They were filming and recording poverty stricken parents of the kids they could have hired for any number of days for ex amount of dollars, pure voyeurism and then stating exactly where they were must have been a godsend to any paedophile contemplating visiting Cambodia for the explicit reason of having sex with children.

I could have wept when they were filming in the bar when one of the film makers said he had a preference “for boys” and was promptly served one up. It was highly noticeable that they did not report the bar owner to the local police for pimping these youngsters.

I have to ask myself why?

I imagine that that would have taken the viewers mind off the reason they were making “Come Home Gary Glitter” which was suggesting that Glitter come home and receive treatment for his paedophilia. That’s just great when most of us who have been abused search for years for support with problems that CSA can bring and there are legions of problems. It was a shame they did not give more airtime to the likes of Donald Findlater of the Lucy Faithful Foundation or Jim Gamble assistant chief constable of the National Crime Squad, both who work with the fallout of child sexual abuse, both who do more work in a day to protect vulnerable children than most of us will achieve in a lifetime.

This program has possibly done more damage than even the most amateur of filmmakers could have done looking into the problem of sex tourism and the ones that remain closer to home. It lacked balance, where were the victims? Where was their voice in all of this?

Nowhere.

Instead they interviewed the wrong people, with the wrong questions as if Giovanni “I’m not even a criminal lawyer” de Stefano was going to tell them where Glitter was holed up, unless it was for a large amount of money. However de Stefano did make an accurate statement that “Jonathan King has technically committed far more serious offences than Gary Glitter” and I thought he had been convinced by Kings continuous whining about being innocent. Interesting to say the least.

There is no technicality about it. King is a sex offender of the worst kind, in denial of his actions and therefore beyond any help and/or control, stautory or otherwise.

This film was a total waste of time and money when they could have opened up the whole can of worms and they missed the obvious link, the one I keep banging on about, Bell Records of the early seventies indeed they featured two of Bells recording artistes Glitter and King, no lateral thought between the pair of them, obviously and that does not make for good reporting or filmmaking.

It is interesting to note that Joel Wilson has worked on lots of comedy documentaries. A free word of advice mate, stick to making people laugh and don’t do programs where you appear to have no understanding of the subject matter.

Doesn’t take a genius does it?

Kirk

Kirk,

There was a really good documentary on a few years ago about the boys who are in the sex trade in Thailand. The film stressed the themes of poverty, violence at home, and feelings of isolation and worthlessness that drive these kids into this sort of life. As I remember the film, most of the boys felt condemned to this life. Certainly they did not fall for the lies of the Western pedophiles who were streaming to Thailand. In one vivid scene some perv is swearing his devotion to a kid about 14 years old and promising to send his family money once he gets back to Europe, and another kid is telling the first one in Thai: "Don't believe him. He's a bastard and just came here for sex. Take his money if you need it but don't believe him."
