As I think of my upcoming drive to San Antonio, I have this daydream where I drive up to my old house, open the passenger door to my truck, and my 11yo self hops in. We make our final getaway from that old rotten place.

I like that. Dealing with you wounded inner child. I still exist as that child every day. The idea of separation sounds like a major growth step, and that you're moving forward.

Thanks for sharing. This the second time I read this and I am just as moved by it this time. To me, this conveys a sense of urgency. If you are anything like me, you had better find a place to pull over as soon as possible because I'd have to many tears in my eyes to see to drive.
