Your pain, my pain Your pain, mine Your pain, real pain My pain, blind
Your pain, my pain Your pain, mine Your pain, a chisel My pain, to find
Your pain, my pain Your pain, mine Your pain, a spotlight My pain, onto shine
Your pain, my pain Your pain, a key Your pain, my pain To set my pain free

Seeker, I liked all of this, but especially this piece: Your pain, a chisel My pain, to find That's a vivid image of how helpful it is to talk and involve others in our recovery. Thanks for sharing this one. Much love, Larry

Larry,
Thanks. I wanted to capture the reality that I had buried my pain so deeply, that I couldn't reach it alone. When I read what others say and their stories, I am greatly affected. Eventually, this allowed me to get in touch with my own pain when I couldn't before. I could cry for others, but not myself. This is sorta my way of saying thanks to all here for helping me do this. Without you guys, I would still be frozen. So, THANKS!!
John

John,
I think that is one of the great aspects of this site. By exploring the pain and needs of others we learn so much about ourselves. We learn that we ourselves are worthy of respect and appreciation. We learn that we will not be devastated anew if we allow ourselves to feel again. In fact, we learn that it is only by this relearning how to feel and express how we feel that we can deal with our problems and recover.
Much love, Larry
