Truths
Childlike we are arrogant in our ego,
Amused, astonished by manipulation from within,
Outward expansion our delusions consume what encompasses our being,
Shunning the truth that bases the heart in reality seeing,
Our hidden truths, our price for sin,
Our denial of what lays within.
Children know the truths that age has blinded us to,
They see life in a simplicity we know naught,
As self-proclaimed intellects above them we muse,
In deception, humanities self created ruse,
Ignorance bliss, blind to what we loose.
A simple grain of some adolescent innocence,
Would open a world of enlightenment beyond our superficial perception,
Life really need not be as complicated as we assert,
Maybe the reality that is, we avert,
What may save our souls from grinding into dirt.
Energy is dissipated with our thoughts so trivial,
Watching, worrying at that which we can not consume,
Starved and blind our ignorance cries from the mind,
At the arrogance that we develop from thoughts unkind,
Lost with no direction, self perceived ignorance does bind.
