Where does the path lead?
Iím not sure, Iím always afraid to take it
Why are you afraid?
I donít know. Maybe itís just that I donít like the unknown?

So, follow the path. Look where it took Dorothy
What?
The Yellow Brick RoadÖthe path.
Go away and leave me alone.

No really, she followed a path.
And it led her to a liar.
Not a liarÖjust a misunderstood man.
Youíre so full of shit.

She did follow the yellow brick road.
She didnít have a choice. She needed to get home.
Are you sure she didnít have a choice?
She was in a strange place and didnít have a choice if she wanted to get back to Kansas.

Did she really HAVE to take the path?
I just said she did!
Couldnít she just sit there with all the Munchkins and feel sorry for herself.
I guess that would be a possibility

So, take the path.
What?
Arenít you tired of just sitting there, feeling sorry for yourself?
Fuck you.

Dammit! Take the fucking path and see where it leads.
What if I find it leads to the Wizard?
So whatÖat least you were brave enough take a chance.
I donít feel so brave.

Where does the path lead?
I donít know, Iím always afraid to take it.
Why are youÖ
OKAY! Fuck itÖIím going to take it!

You are? Why now? I thought you were afraid?
Iím more afraid of Munchkins.

TX, I'm gonna agree with the narrator: I'm moree afraid of munchkins as well. Fucking munchkins. I think there's a lot in the poem, but I want to pick up on one set of thoughts I went into.

So much of the problem I've been facing in my life is that there always seem to be so many paths, so many people doing so many things, so many of which I could do and/or want to do. But there are so many. And then there are those rare moments when one path begins shining more clearly than the others, the brown blue red orange paths just fade a little, and that yellow path highlights itself a little more brightly than the rest. There are so many ways this can happen, intensive and extended thought, sudden impulse, an amazing conversation with a loved one, but that one path presents itself. my immediate doubt is, but what if this path ends up leading right back to where I am, or I follow it a little and regret not following the brown one, or I follow the path and there's a witch and he/she enslaves me and I lose myself and there's no happy ending. But the problem is the fucking munchkins. All they do is sing ridiculous songs and do crazy acrobatics. It is just not the place for me. Yes, there are lots of paths, so many, but this one path looks good, looks special, and it's time to take a deep breath and follow the yellow brick road and deal with the consequences as they come.

TX_Space,

Wow. That is so cool. I love every word, every line! But hey. Remember the story? Dorothy had the key to her return to Kansas from the beginning - the ruby slippers. But she had to believe in herself first, and that she learned by striking out on the Yellow Brick Road.

Much love,
Larry
