Shower
You are still abusing the boy I used to be
Even many years later, I hear your voice,
Feel your body,
Sense the evil you did to me.
You are still raping me,
Taking my power,
Abusing my sex,
Betraying my trust.
But today, and every day,
I'm taking back what you took,
Rebuilding what you destroyed,
Making better what you made worse.
Your filth clings to me like sweat
long dried after a summer's day.
But I'm taking a long-delayed shower,
And washing myself of you.
I'm facing the future clean and pure.
As if I was reborn anew.
Letting the innocence you tried to kill
Free, free to enjoy the time that was stolen.
I am taking a long hot shower,
And watching you swirl down the drain.
Peace,
Scot
