Smooth Boy:

Fresh faced smooth boy
shuttle-bused from the lowlands,
His gold bond pavement dreams
scooped by sharp stock men
grinding out innocents for creep delight.

Days clouded together like dust
sawn asunder in the wake
of mucker boy favours for
red faced strangers living
high in the towers of despair.

Afterwards,
In the smoke of his burning
red river cuts washing clear
to the place of greenest peace.

Very powerful, Ross. Are you the author? It reminded me of a sweet and troubled former client of mine who now lives in Seattle, not too far from BC. You are both in my prayers tonight.

Yes I confess I wrote this poem. It is about a street kid I knew when I was on the street too, a fellow survivor who is no longer with us. He was used, abused, cut and murdered by sexual predators. he remains in my heart and memory but gone from the planet. Prayers are good things and always appreciated.
