a time and space weave
------------------------------------------
to darn a sock
if the mending were love
or to honour that within us which makes us happy
with a choice of thread that may be so pleasing.
to give an inner glance - to a memory of closeness
in that quiet sewing space
lessons learned of love and loss
and also to the past for better or worse -
unchangeable -
emotions mix
and choices made - the weaving of
time and space -
with really good thread of our liking if we can
and that pleases us - in our daily routine -
and suits us too
that we can weave with
the current stitching lessons up to date.
is seemingly to be the most important.
for we have our thread in life -
and we are the weavers -
catching our lives -
in many different baskets
many different weaves.
and some are indeed beautiful -
and some need work
some are beautiful and also maybe what is
just right.
in this here and now.
I have my needle and thread -
and I have maybe my weave
which I am growing to know better -
it's the one I love and that works for me
and yours is yours for you.
but clearly - the familiar and the disruption
give pause to undo a few threads -
to review and looking again at our work
in quiet contemplation.
work should seem a cold thing to say.
so I will say looking at you.
and looking at us.
I see it's not a yes or a no -
or a right or a wrong -
perhaps - just what works -
and how to sew -
in what suits us each best
and most importantly -
what we do right now
what we can do right now
to fit this
our sewing lessons to date
where we live
we are all a work in progress -
we are all arranging our baskets
in life
and seeing the different weavers next door
and along the way too
we're ever knitting forward...
and letting go -
remembering in that quiet space sometimes
our emotions mix
on thoughts of love and loss.
