Lost in cold time
To a dark place, a cold place
Where one's bones rattle and groan
A quick shift and another face
Grey and cold, stone cold

Perhaps it was a dream
And not yesterday or any time
Just a numbness and never really there
Hey man, can you spare a dime?
Grey and cold, growing old

Smiles smeared and painted
Letters read, wet and worn
Haunting thoughts and worse deeds
A scream beyond forlorn
Grey cold, dead
