He lived his life upon the sea
never daring to look below
for sunshine,waves,and coast to see
where else would he need to go

his course uncharted, his moves unplanned
he sailed from day to day
Not looking at what lay below
he could never loose his way

from out of nowhere, the storm did hit
what damage did it do
how much could he have avoided
had he looked below for clues

and for the first time in his life
he realized what is true
to be a captain on this sea
you can't ignore the clues

the clues are there for you to learn
to be better at your craft
and the one who only looks on top
is heading for lifes big trap

Can he get this ship on course
and make the world alright
or is he doomed by his regret
even though he saw the light.

"and for the first time in his life

What is true is you are doing the best you can with what you've got....what is true is the shame of the abuse does not belong to you.

God is not slow, God is patient. Hang in there.

I would say it's not up to him to make the world alright. As he recovers he will discover ways to keep himself safe and happy regardless of what's happening in the rest of the world.

And doomed? It's never too late. Today is, as the saying goes, the first day of the rest of his life.

Much love,
Larry
