Tired of Living, Scared of Dying

Bone weary.
And every day a struggle.
Sometimes, it's not the years
But the mileage that makes me
Feel the way I do.

It's not even physical anymore
Despite it feeling that way.
It's the tiredness of the soul
That wears on me. In most ways
Worse than just wanting to sleep.

Each day I face the fact
That I'm too tired to live,
Yet too scared to die.
Stuck between Heaven and Hell
In a limbo of my own making.

God delivers me His strength
And I make it through somehow.
The effort, though leaves me little
To make the rest of my life what
I know it should be.

So I'll keep walking the path
That's given me.
Wondering what's coming next.
Thinking to myself that
Same old refrain.

Tired of living, scared of dying.
With me stuck in the middle.

Scotd,

Don't forget to save some for yourself. You know how you've reminded others to do that. Please save some of the good stuff that you bring to your brothers. Let it speak to you, let it nourish you, let it sustain you, too.
One of the hardest things is probably for us to adopt what we give to one another.
And, of course, keep writing.

Brother David
