Fragments of lost children, echo within my mind,
Who are these children, to whom Iím still blind?
He speaks in earnest tone, words mumbled and fast,
This young boys voice, trapped in my past.

Fragments of lost children, echo within my mind,
Who are these children, to whom Iím still blind?
He laughs when heís scared and talks very fast,
Another boys voice, trapped in my past.

Fragments of lost children, echo within my mind,
Who are these children, to whom Iím still blind?
He is silent and sad, his essence doesnít last,
Yet another boys presence, trapped in my past.

Fragments of lost children, echo within my mind,
Who are these children, to whom Iím still blind?
They are lost in a past, that once belonged to me,
So blind to them three, I must be.

Leonatomi,

What a way to introduce yourself...very well said. Anyone who can put words together like that will do well, here. Sorry that you had to go looking for a place like this, but we're happy that you've joined this rag tag group of brothers who are dedicated to helping one another on the road to recovery.
Peace, strength and courage,

David

Ivanhoe,

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't written many poems, but I do find writing them to be a therapeutic way of translating feelings into words, something I'm not very good at verbally.

Thanks again....

I enjoyed reading your poem and think you are extreamly tallented. I hope you keep writing because I am excited to see more of your work. I really like the wording of this poem it really puts the feelings you are having into perspective. I know that I have felt the same way and still do at times but keep looking for the light that will free the little boy inside.

Lost boys all are invited to meet in my Scottish Neverland of JM Barrie---your amazing poem speaks to this lost boy, scarred & relating so well to the countless lost ones you reach out to:) \:\)
Fragments united=strength:) \:\)
Thanks for the positive energy to this Ireland kid, John:) \:\)
