Inside me there's this guy
I felt him just a while ago
And wanted you to know
And see
If you had one inside you, too?

He's lonely
Oh, so lonely
And I don't know who he is
Exactly

I mean, I know he lives there
And I know he's part of me
And yet, at times I'm not aware that he exists

And then someone
Some thing
Some thought
Will bring our minds together
Bring him out
Pull him into where I think

And I will feel so all alone

It is a loneliness from way down deep
Something forlorn
Something ancient
Something that has been a part of me
Forever

And, yet, I cannot go inside at will
And say
"Hey lonely guy, let's talk"
"I want to get to know you"
"Help you"
"Make you less alone."

For sometimes I am sure that if the two of us could only talk
Then I could understand
Could help
Could be his friend, perhaps

And then, I wouldn't have to feel his loneliness inside
His awful ache

And then, he's gone

I like him
No, not the lonely feeling that he brings
I like his soul
And know that he is good
Somehow damaged
Somehow hurt
Drawn in....inside

And know that he'll be back
Never when
But sometimes why

And I will feel his loneliness again
And wonder in my heart
Just who he is
And why he's sad
And why I cannot seem to reach inside
To let him know he has a friend.

Bobby,

He's a scared lost kid, like Shadow notes, and after all that has happened he finds it difficult to trust anyone with anything. But hang in there for him; in his own time and in his own way he will keep approaching you to see what you say and do when you notice him. And after awhile he will learn to trust again.

Much love,
Larry

Bobby,

This is nice, and I would think we have all met that lonely guy in us from time to time.

I like your poems, but I must admit, I often don't read many of them. Your stuff is so raw and so emotional, that someone like me trying to learn about emotions and deal with them feels overwhelmed. That is my issue, by the way, not yours. But, I do like them. They just trigger me alot.

Just wanted to let you know they are cool.

John

Bobby,

I compare this to the new poem you just wrote, and clearly you are doing a lot of hard work and expressing it, as usual, in some very powerful poetry. Thanks for sharing all this with us.

Much love,
Larry
