- i have found something precious -

very much more than any rule or word -
can say -

i have found self acceptance in who
and what i am -

i am a gay man - and I hear us each of us defending this and trying to understand it -

i was baptised in a faith that emphasizes the mystery of love -

i also studied judaism - and catholicism
as these amongst my closest neighbors
and school mates -

i also then was around presbyterians too -
and buddhists -

i must say there I have known there are good people of all faiths - and at times i have lost that idea -
i did not know why and could not make sense of it

even muslims - a man named sayed i met today - very common sense commonly decent -
worked for a major american firm - and we talked for 1.5 hours - though their public image is tarnished to put it slightly -

I came away from all this today -
thinking on one thing too perhaps the basis of
my confusion and more to the crux of behavior
universally - that is what it is -

feeling the pain of the pressure of explaining it all -

and perhaps there is a need to hate others for some people
and hate themselves too -

the beauty i found is in self acceptance **

that some things are just -

just are -

we are beautiful unique creations

the humanity is in the acceptance of
our uniqueness -
that is where the strength
and power is too

the perfection in imperfection

the humanity

the ability to love
and accept oneself -
and others

my first boy friend said to me -

perhaps some people were meant for no purpose!!!

in explaining his sexuality

i know that I have had to say -
that 'this is what works for me' - in a kind of unarticulated way - 'this is what i want' -

and then the really beautiful thing-

my friend's nephew such
a lovely free man of today

said

to his aunt - a very loving lady -

i just am attracted more
and feel more comfortable -

he is 20 or so and said
i feel i didn't get the love and support
i guess i needed
when i grew up
and now i know that this
is how I love my life is best - I am happy and daily and loving
dating at last -

so that's it for me -

peace be with you all -

mgb
