Kirk.

This will really scare you 1969 was the year BEFORE I was born!!!!

Rick Wakeman that was the bloke I was thinking about. I saw him on Countdown a few years ago. He must have been desperate. \:D . I vaguely remember a couple of their album sleeves. I used to help another brother-in-law with his disco and he had some of their music. I'll have to go out and get a Yes Cd. Once I hear their music I'll probably remember it. I recently bought a Deep Purple Cd and surprised myself how many tracks I was familiar with.

Catch you soon. You'll have to tell me how the gig goes.

Mark

Mark:

Any possibility you might still able to play the drums? It could be good physical therapy or exercise too, if you have access to or could get any of course.

My massage therapist has suggested I play the drums, including hand drums like bongos (which I've always wanted to play) for my fibromyalgia. Seems like it would hurt my hands, but then they hurt anyway so who knows?

You saw the "Dark Side of the Moon" tour! Man! That had to be so totally awesome! I about wore that album (yeah, vinyl, guys--so I'm old! :p ) thru the grooves, and probably would have had it not got lost or stolen or thrown away with all my other albums & singles (yes, '45's) & 8-track tapes (remember those?)

And the Monkees reunion? Dang! Mickey Dolenz rocks!

Hey Mark, I'm glad you're doing better, and hope you continue to recover, in every way. And when you're on music, my friend, you're never off topic where I'm concerned!

All this talk about bands like Yes and Deep Purple has made me even more determined to get all my old vinyl out of storage in the loft and record some of it onto cd.
I've seen Yes too many time to remember, they used to do the local Uni' end of term gig's regularly. I' know I've seen them - just can't remember anything

I used to do a 'rock and blues disco' around here in the late 60's early 70's, all hair and flares \:o
I have pictures of me with hair down my back- not a pretty sight.

I was so into music then, still am, and I went to see live bands nearly every weekend.
This was so long ago that I saw Pink Floyd as the support act to some band that's now dissapeared without trace, now I'm showing my age. \:\(

"Comfortably Numb" been there...... Loved every minute of it although it nearly killed me.

How I long sometimes for that chemically induced oblivion....I couldnt be touched.
Wow do I understand what you're talkin about here, Kirk!

Not so much the booze or the pot, not in around 25 years. Now it's more subtle, legal, and still putting me into oblivion. Things like overeating, numbing out with porn.

My problem is even tho it's killing me, just as surely if more slowly than the alcohol & drugs, I still love the stuff too damn much!

Worse, I don't even want it anymore. I want to touch & be touched; I want to feel!

Bad old habits die hard, good new habits live hard!

Speaking of good new habits, I probably need to be taking my 12 step work a little more seriously.
Glad you're going at it good, Kirk.

Personally speaking I'm a YES nut off to see them in Birmingham in July. Cant wait \:\) \:\) \:\)
Wow, you & Mark talkin about all these concerts you been to and are going to!

Last concert I went to was about 10 years ago, The Beach Boys--but it was cool!

People & beach balls bouncing all over the place!

Last one before that, probably another 10 years or more, think it was Ted Nugent and some others.

But I did see Jimi Hendrix when I was a kid!...

Man, have you ever heard his guitar instrumental version of "House of the Rising Sun?!" That is some smokin guitar!

Victor.

Jimi Hendrix ROCKS . Wow I would have loved to have seen him. The beach Boys too. My musical taste varies soooo much. From Black Sabbath, Faithless, Limp Bizkit through to Vivaldi, Carly Simon, etc. I can't believe I've just admitted to liking Carly Simon, hey what the heck least I'm being honest.

I'm just old enough to remember vinly, lol. My btother-in-laws disco was all Vinly. I actually miss the messy sound of it, I mean the odd scartch or jump. We used to have to balance pennies on the neddle when we were in some halls!!!

This is GREAT , I can't imagine how it must be to have memeories of seeing The Pink Floyd before they were famous. That must have been when Sid Barret was still in the band, what a great talent he had.

Thanks again to everyone.

Mark, I like a lot of Carly Simons' stuff. Also Linda Ronstadt, Sonny & Cher, The Monkees, Bread, The Bee Gees, tossed in with Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Queen, The Beatles, The Stones, The Supremes, The Doobie Brothers, The Beach Boys, Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, a real mix.

Just like me! \:D

Here's to vinly!
