One night, about ten years ago, during a major Pacific storm I was driving a rented Pontiac from Lake Tahoe to LA and got locked onto this country station broadcasting from Fresno, about halfway between. I was heartbroken, going through a divorce from an 11 year relationship. Well, this station was having an all night marathon of country break up songs. To give you an idea of what an ooey gooey soft-hearted sugar pie I am, I was in tears off and on for 400 miles! Of course, it was dark, it was raining, and I was all alone in unfamiliar territory. It was extremely cathartic, and I have made space in my life and CD rack for country music ever since.

This song, "I'm Moving On" by Rascal Flatts, is about coming to terms with your past and going forward with your life. Healing. I like it because it just makes me feel, and the first time I heard it made me cry. I'd be curious to hear what y'all think.

INCREDIBLY MOVING SONG. I cry whenever I hear it too. I also think you will like this one by JoDee Messina...

From the album "Burn"

(Jo Dee Messina with Tim McGraw)
(Billy Montana/Helen Darling)

Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war (‘cause)

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

It’s almost like the hard times circle ‘round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I’m not dead

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

I’m not gonna let it get me down
I’m not gonna cry
And I’m not gonna lose any sleep tonight

From the album "Rascal Flatts"

(Phillip White/Vincent Williams)

I've dealt with my ghosts and faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I¡¯ve found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I¡¯m at peace with myself
I¡¯ve been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I¡¯m movin¡¯ on

I¡¯ve lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they¡¯re always the same
They mean no harm but it¡¯s time that I face it
They¡¯ll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don¡¯t belong
I¡¯m movin¡¯ on

I¡¯m movin¡¯ on
At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there¡¯s no guarentee¡¯s, but I¡¯m not alone
There comes a time in everyone¡¯s life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone

I sold what I could and packed what I couldn¡¯t
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I¡¯ve loved like I should but lived like
I shouldn¡¯t
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I¡¯m movin¡¯ on

I¡¯m movin¡¯ on
I¡¯m movin¡¯ on

I think so, Lloydy. I meant to check that out before I put up the post. I will do a little research and let you know.

OK Lloydy, I found several songs by the same title but they're different songs entirely. BB King does have a great song with the same name, couldn't find anything by Clapton but it sounds like something he would do. There's even one by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, with Yoko doing lead vocals. Yuuuck! Is she one of yours or one of ours?
