My best friend has been recommending this album to me for a very VERY long time. I don't have it yet, other than a couple songs d/led from Napster (sorry, Trent).

So I don't know all the songs, but I was certainly struck by the titles of the songs. It's a 2 CD album, divided into "The Left" and "The Right." I think "Left" comes first, but I'm not 100%. Track 5 from "The Left" was the source of my .sig.

Anyway, just listen to these titles; dunno if Trent Reznor was abused himself, but he's been through some shit in his life, that can't be denied.

J, yeah I've been recommended to listen to those cds too. Haven't heard em either yet - lemme know how it turns out. I definately agree that Trent really knows how to get into the darkness of depression, hatred, and all that in his music. probably better than anyone i can think of. the song "Hurt" off of The Downward Spiral cd has got to be my all time favorite for when I am depressed. Listening to that song just pours the depression on me even thicker, which isn't a great idea i know, but shit.. its so fitting and so so good.

My buddy was telling me that The Fragile is a lot more hopeful than his other albums, mainly because the theme of this album is that he's already hit bottom (no longer making a "downward spiral").

Nowhere to go now, but up. I started thinking about this album when I was in the chatroom the other day, and someone said "The only way out is through."
