I dunno if there are triggers or not but I put up a warning just in case.

Sometimes I get scared to post, write, say anything about what happened cos its scary. But then I thought about, what if I stop focusing on what scares me and focus on what makes me happy you know?

So yeah, here are some things that make me feel okay.

My girlfriend Sheena
Talking with Sheena
Skating [even though im no supposed to]
Cooking with my dad
Being with my dad in general
Hanging out with my friends and not having to worry about anything.

That's a good way to look at things. After all, you are Nyjah first; you have your own worth and qualities, and these are still yours even after all that has happened to you.

I like your list, but you forgot to mention Sheena! I am sooooo going to report this to her!!!

Glad u felt comfortable to post again.

Glad u mentioned the good things that are going on with u. We as survivors sometimes forget to consider CSA stuff is not our whole life.

Nyjah - I like your list and that fact that you're able to see some of the better things life has to offer. In the spirit of your post, here are a few things that make me feel okay:

- Having spit-ball wars with my 9 year old daughter.
- Playing the "What did that one taste like" game after either my daughter or I belch.
- Watching the cat chase the dog.
- Watching the dog chase the cat and try to eat her whole.
- Watching my wife roll her eyes as I do these things, as I let my nine-year-old self out to play for a few minutes.
- Watching the gazillions of birds fly over my house in migration.
- Writing notes to my daughter that I will give her in the future.
- Listening to good music.
- Reading posts from men and boys who were hurt so badly but are healing....that makes me feel good. So thank you. - Peace John

Cool, I'm glad everyone likes this thread. I wasn't sure where to put it cos I didn't know where it should be, it was a tie between Off Topic and here.

Sheena and I had an awesome time tonight, it was really cool. I'm feeling a bit better about posting [or i wouldn't be writing this]. Anyways, glad everyone likes it and hope all is well.

Sinking, you sound like a bit of a troublemaker. troublemakers unite!

Here are just a few of mine and Little Larry's:

1. Going out to dinner with my wife and just talking.

2. Playing with Bruno (german shepherd) and watching him freak out over his dog toys.

3. Going to the park and throwing Bruno's "stick" (fence post).

4. Playing poker with my wife and kids for money (piles of old pre-WWI German bank notes).

5. Popping popcorn and watching gangster movies with my daughter.

6. Sitting by a rushing stream listening to the water.

7. Reading a good book with a glass of wine.

8. Listening to blues tunes and figuring them out on my guitar.

9. Cooking outside.

10. Seeing jobs all over the house that need to be done, and going out for a walk in the sun instead.

11. Working with my students.

12. Connecting with my brother survivors.

1. Being with my grandchildren age range from 18 months to five years
2. Watching Peter Pan 1 & 2 with my grandaughters
3. Listening to my second eldest grandaughter/goddaughter singing "Somewhere over the rainbow" (shes four)
4. Christmas day with the family although I used to hate it when younger.
5. My youngest grandaughters smile and laugh
6. Sharing with other survivors.
7. Listening to my music collection and finally reading Texas A&M University "Anthropology in the news".

Let's see, what are a few of my favorite things, besides Ranata.

Car trips, puppies, long walks, water, anything water...swimming, boating, not much of a fisherman unless they're biting, cats, my cats would never forgive me if I forget cats, involved conversations with people I like, group, can I say group, that I'm enjoying the process of it, now, finally.
These are a few of my favorite things...unless, of course, you want to listen to me talk about my daughters, that could take up the rest of the capacity of the web site.
