Hi Guize,
I just wanted to share that Hubby & I are actually doing more talking & taking some small steps for couples counseling... Its been 2 yrs since I moved out. Seems like a long time to me when I type it out... but not so long in real life.
We've talked about couples counseling a few times before but the genuine feeling behind hubby's voice is there now. I'M SCARED THO!
Part of me feels as if I am going to "be called on the carpet" for being a bad wifey... Part of me is scared that he will end up deciding this has all been MY FAULT & will leave me sitting in the dust...ANOTHER part of me feels really hopeful that we can heal together.
I watched some of "Dr Phil" yesterday & saw a book he has out called "Relationship Rescue" what peaked my interest was what he said to one of his guests with a alcohol problem.. he told this guy to "Do the work, even if you dont read this book, DO THE Work in it". Hubby & talked about this after I told him it sounded like a step we maybe could take. He perked right up & got real interested agreeing that we could look this book over & maybe do some of the homework too...
Maybe it seems a bit lame... but with each of us working with our individual therapist it is a step.
I think I remain more Hopeful than any fears right now...

i am thrilled to hear the potential in your post. two years does seem like a long time on the calender but in the heart it can be as brief as a moment or as long as a life time. i can guarentee you that you have not been a bad wife. how? you did the one thing mine never did, you still reached out to him. take care, sammy.

Agreeing on something is the big step, and you're both willing to try.

It's not as though you hate each other, you both seem to have a big spark flashing for each other in fact !
So go for it, turn the spark into the old fire.

I just wanted to say good luck in the couples counseling. While it most likely will not be an easy journey, it holds great promise. I am so glad that your SO is willing to go with you, I'll keep you both in my prayers (if you don't mind )

It's OK to get called on the carpet. Most people only tell you about your faults if they want to keep you around. If they don't care about you they don't need to waste any time telling you, they can just split. (something maybe I should remember, instead of opening my mouth and getting into trouble over people I don't care about...)
