Hey there guys. Hope I get more than 2 replies. Come on ... we need to really work harder at communicating our support for people that take risk to post here for healing. Its vital. Please. ...

That being said, I finally, got to listen to the reply to my attacker at his re-sentencing. I was allowed to have a letter read by the judge (he actually took time and read it... right there. )

This time, it was not a victim impact letter per se but it was allowed in without objection.

And the letter was powerful. The attacker read it as well and the DA shook his fist and was angry ... there were a lot of violations... serious ones.

My attacker's reply was ...regarding me.. "you'd think that some people would learn to forgive and forget and move on with their lives" "why is he focusing all this on me? Doesn't he remember there was another person there too?"

HOW DARE THAT LITTLE PRICK EXPECT FORGIVENESS WHEN HE NEVER ATTEMPTED TO APOLOGIZE... I EVEN ASKED HIS P.O. WOULD HE EVER CONSIDER AN APOLOGY LETTER. I was told that since he was not charged with what he did to me, there was no reason for him to do it.

So he basically admitted to it, after years of motions to suppress, delays and everything. Because why expect forgiveness if there was nothing that happened needed forgiveness?!

Then he went on and on about how he re-offended (looking at teenage boy porn evidently) because Obamacare wouldnt pay for his therapy appointments and other horse*(&*(&

The long and short was when he expected forgiveness for something and started going off on me, everyone's eyebrows arched and looked at me then him and the judge finally said among other priceless things.

"I don't think youre a monster... but you are a predator. And that you would use any tool you could to get a person to your place and do what you wanted to them whether they wanted it or not and thats a risk to all of us. "

I was thanked by the Judge and wished well, and the DA shook my hand and thanked me and said I was vindicated in every possible way.

Anyone who thinks this has to do with me, on the record it is refuted by HIS words.

I have grown the hell up and gotten my act together (mostly lol) and I have moved on with my life and continue to grow and enjoy the wonder of the world and how I can be and make it better.

AND FUCK YOU TO HIM smile

He was given a very long sentence smile

this is an amazing experience that so few of us survivors will live to see.
i can't imagine the effort required to get there.
i never got my day in court or anything that resembled closure or justice.
so my first reaction, believe it or not, is akin to envy,
but that is nothing compared to the vindication i feel on your behalf.
it is intoxicating to imagine myself in that courtroom.

the only negative feeling i have is one of repugnance when i picture the criminal.
i wasn't there but you paint a pretty good picture of a typical perp.
clutching and clinging to his defiance and denial.
defending his actions to the bitter end.
what a classic display of shameless selfish ignorance.
i have heard all that talk before.
when you look at them, exposed,
it is almost pitiful until one considers the damage.
then i'm flooded with disgust and outrage.

if only punishment would erase the deed from memory and history.

thank you for sharing this unfortunately rare victory.
it was a bit of ride for me.

all i'm hearing is… WHY ME? self pity.

it angers me when someone like that uses the words "forgive and forget"
that is not their jurisdiction.
that domain rightfully belongs to the people they hurt.
and forgiveness has nothing to do with consequences.
it is not a "get out of jail free" card.
do the crime. do the time.

he can work on his many problems in the privacy of his jail cell.
you can work on yours in the comfort of your own home,
knowing that you did all you could to protect other children from his problem.

good work.
you deserve a medal.
