My visit with the heart doctor yesterday yielded positive results. There is nothing seriously wrong with my heart. I do not need surgery! I do need exercise. I have to strengthen the walls of the heart so they are more efficient at pumping blood.

Puffer (I need to puff more as I do exercise)

Good to hear. There are tons of ways to exercise - hope you find some you like.

Thanks

I also have to lose about 30 pounds.

Someone suggested I give up meat.

I have started keeping track of my food intake and the caloric content.

It was on this that I didn't stay with Weight Watchers.

I started taking lisinopril today.

Lisinopril is a prescription medication to lower blood pressure.

I need help with something.

I don't sleep well at nights. I think this has been going on since I was 12. According to the sleep study done on me by the sleep doctor, my brain does not go through complete cycles of rest but rather awakens a bunch so that I don't reach a state of restful sleep.

My own take on this is that something in my mind is trying to avoid the terrible dreams that come with full REM sleep, so it partially awakens before the dreams start.

The result is that I have not received adequate rest for a long time. How can I break this cycle?

Another possible interpretation is that abuse I experienced then set up a dissociated rhythm in my brain which itself interrupts the normal sleep cycle.

Has anybody else experienced this?
