Bill - this is indeed a victory - maybe not the whole war, but a very decisive battle!

and i cannot help but think that this strength and courage and self-control will spill over into other areas of your life.

good for you! i am so happy for you for taking this huge stride forward.

Wonderful to hear you stood up and are no longer captive to his controlling and domineering behavior. People ostracize, verbal assault, ignore to gain control. Once you let go and say enough is enough of this childish, selfish and ungrateful behavior they no longer have control over you. They are like the abusers--they want you to remain the victim. Just different degrees of warped self perceptions.

Good going and I hope everything goes better for your Mom--

I am happy for you, ThisMan. There is a power in simplicity. And there is more strength in a whisper than in the loudest rants - when it speaks your soul.

Wow. I can not express my gratitude for your comments. I did indeed retain my dignity and my honor. And the only thing I had to do was stand.
Thanks so much for acknowledging that. I slept like a new man last night.

Hey TM,

Good job. You did it with class and dignity. Most importantly you made the decision that you deserved better than that. That you no longer needed to trade your self-respect for the false sense of belonging to a "family".

And for the best performance in a family drama....the winner is ThisMan!
