Hello all,
Well, I'm finally home from the trauma treatment center in New Orleans my Doctor's and Therapist's thought would be good for me. All-in-All they were right. I'm not 100% but I do have a better outlook on life and am facing the many issues of my recovery with a stronger and better attitude. I know I still have a long way to travel but I have a better understanding of myself, don't beat up on myself as often but most import I stopped asking "why me" and blaming myself.
I was more open with my Doctors, Staff and other Patients then I have been in years.
I feel better about life in general and understand I have a long way to go but am more willing to get "my hands dirty" to get there. I look forward to being more active here on the board as I'm sure I'll have bad days as well. Thank you all for your support and reading this novel.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Glad you're home now and you got something good out of the experience. Keep healing.

Glad you are back and were able to get good insights into trauma. Trauma is something we all knew little about. As we heal and meet with experts we begin to better understand what effects the abuse had on us--it was trauma. It is always best to hear it from the experts. There are too many quacks out there pontificating that abuse is not trauma and trauma does not effect ones life. They do not have a clue. But you now know you do not need to blame yourself it was not your fault.

You have received sound advice and I can hear in your words hope and optimism. You have a clear path. I look forward to seeing you on the board.
