time is too precious to waste.
look your brother in the face.
relax your defenses, man, lower your shield.
join the human race.

get the message.
the writing's on the wall.
get the message.
united we stand, divided we surely will fall.

violence only breeds violence.
there has to be another way.
put down your weapon, man, lay down your sword.
there's nothing more to say.

... but do not forget
my precious friend
... to keep them close at hand
to protect yourself
... and our little band
for in the end
... there may be monsters
left to slay

This is a mutual respect and admiration v-v.

So many of your submissions go to the core of my beliefs and feelings
and so lead me to add to ... or reply to ... what you say.
It makes me ponder the status quo.
This can't always happen.
What someone says can't always say something to everyone ... or to anyone.
Many people get no responses at all ... as illustrated by my own many failures.
I try to read every original post ... especially from my friends here ...
but more importantly those of newbies who's name I don't recognize.
We are established ... they need encouragement and support
and recognition.

Sadly ... some of the most valuable nuggets are hidden in the discourse
following an original post ...
and when or if I finally get to read them ... the moment has passed.
Yes ... time is the barrier that keeps us from keeping up.
There's too much to read and too little time ...
especially the time it takes to compose a comprehensive text.
I sometimes spend an hour or more trying to come up with what I want to say ...
even just something simple ... short and concise ... (NOT my forte)
and in frustration and fear of saying the wrong thing ... I give up.
Also my biggest fear is taking the focus away from the author ...
taking over his post ... unintentionally ... but I do it all the time.
I apologize to those to whom I may have done that ...
including you my friend.

However ... this I think is the whole point of 'Poetry' ...
I feel, and therefore say, something that sparks a reaction in someone,
which in turn prompts someone else to provide their views on the matter
and better still ...
to begin a whole new poem based on a single word or phrase spoken
by anyone participating in the conversation.
I often read new submissions with the awareness that it's genesis came
from reading previous work from someone's poem and the ideas contained in the post.
I find this particularly satisfying ... not just as a personal compliment ...
because that's what replies are ... compliments to the author ...
but in general.

I've said it before and it bears repeating.
Nothing comes from within ... something from outside has to plant the seed of change ...
otherwise we continue to listen only to ourselves ... the dialogue inside our heads
that perpetuate lies and ... yes ... inner ignorance.
We only learn from what we see ... hear ... or touch.
What we hear in MS touches us and helps us see more clearly through the cobwebs
and shadows clouding our minds.
Our attics need dusting and it's windows cleaning
if we ever hope to have some light penetrate the darkness where we live.

" Evil grows in the dark ...
where the sun it never shines ...
evil grows in cracks and holes
and lives in people's minds ... "

BTW ...
You never fail to amaze me with the incredible references you provide us ...
Thank you.

i appreciate your appreciation.

however, unfortunately for me, you seem to be in a tiny minority with that opinion.
