I never saw "cute" as a seductive term. I pretty much think any kid is "cute".....just like I think a kitten or puppy or a beach cottage is "cute".

To me it means more like pleasant or fun then it means something that is a physical attribute.

I see your points on this though.

Oh boy.... I just used the word "cute" the other day referring to a girlfriend of my 8 y/o Daughter & I then felt a twinge of, "oh I hope that was taken ok after I said it". I was complimenting her to her mother saying, "she's cute & she plays so well". My Daughter & her have the same instrument class, but this girl is so much better than the rest, really outgoing, small in cute as a bug's ear some would say. I meant nothing sick or creepy, it's sad that something said so innocent as that we can second guess, even when we say it ourselves. Btw, her Mom didn't take it the wrong way, she went on to tell me that her daughter had a couple years of classes prior yadda, yadda, yadda. Her Mom didn't turn and run away from me or anything like that, thank God.
