Hey there, a nutrionist suggested i buy a food-processor
to chop my foods and then put the food in a blender to
puree- b/c i want to have veggie shakes.
Is an Ostercizer better in terms of NOT losing the vitamins
and minerals?
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two?
Any info. ; i dont want to google. - pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I am gonna sneak in here Goran and just add my support to your healthy life choices fellow survivor. I do not have a clue about shakes, but I should probably eat more veggies. Maybe let us know what your diet plan is and how you would use the processor/blender? I prefer my shakes with whipped cream. wink

Goran

There is a guy who comes into MS who knows all about this. He goes by the handle: FHorns. Just leave him a personal message that you're interested in this.

I think it's true that pureed vegetables would help our health. I'm sure FHorns would agree.

The problem I see is that much of what we buy contains chemicals sprayed on it by agriculture. DR. OZ IS GOING TO DEVOTE IS PROGRAM TODAY ON THIS PROBLEM. IT IS A BIG PROBLEM.

The best machine if you have the money is a vitamix. It cuts up every thing you put in it and preserves all the vitamins and minerals in the food have one for 10 years lasts almost forever.
Hope this helps.

The big problem as far as I can see is the matter of pesticides and other chemicals in and on the veggies. I can get certified pesticide-free veggies but they cost a lot more. Maybe it would be worth it in terms of being healthier.

Regarding machines, I have an old Vitamix 3600. This thing is like an old tank! It's from the 60's and weighs a ton.

I personally try to buy organic where available, but if for whatever reason (quality, availability, price, etc.) I can't, I'm still cool to use conventional. Yes, there are GMOs and chemicals. But one must remember, most of the major research done in the past regarding the benefits of plant based diets were NOT done with organic foods.

Organic or not, it's better than no veggies at all. smile
