trapped
in a blind man's
wide-eyed
slumber
delivering
introductions
to the darkness
an
old familiar
friend
and foe with
dead-end
thoughts
traveling
the way
carousels do
at the bottom
of a restless
soul
tangled
bed sheet
nooses
wrestle
against the
fever
of tortured skin
and bitten lips
beg for
mercy
where no mercy
is given
not
tonight

Maybe you'd like to read 2 of my poems that deal directly with my inability to get to sleep ...
even with sleeping pills.
I take two ... but last night I finally gave in and took a third one.
The last time I looked at the clock it read 05:00am.

Maybe these will mean something to you ...
"... the night"
and
"tonight"

i read the 2 poems you mentioned...
and then i read some more...

"it's over" was raw. it moved me and shook me up.
i remember having the same feelings, still do, and you put them into words that were very, very real, and in a way, very freeing.

I sincerely hope that they bored you into a deep and peaceful sleep.
