I love this track from a great band. It is electronic, and very cinematic and grand. It really connects me to all of the pieces of myself, particularly the little ones.
To me, it represents that time in between battles, the calm after a victory. But, the sense that there is more to be done ahead.
It is also about our stories not being over yet. But, it also about listening to those parts of us inside, particularly the kids, that have fought the good fight already in the early chapters of our story. They have already experienced what we are now trying to fight. And we carry them forward with us into the next battle and honor their sacrifices. Just like our older selves will honor what we do today.
I don't know, maybe I read too much into it. But, this song just makes me goosebump all over and feel ready for the next fight.
Intro We didn't need a story We didn't need a real world We just had to keep walking And we became the stories We became the places We were the lights The deserts The faraway worlds We were you before you even existed
Carry on, carry on, Carry on And after us the flood
Carry on, carry on, Carry on Our silver horn it leads the way
Banners of gold Shine In the cold In the cold In the cold
Footprints of snow Blind from the road Fade
We carry on, carry on Follow us, we are one The battle's fought The deed is done Our silver hum runs dark and strong Hand to the heart Lips to the horn We can save We can be reborn Head on my breast I'll keep you warm Safe
