Thanks for sharing this, Gary. Phantasm was one of my favorite movies when I was in my teens. Love that movie! And agree the Tall Man was a great villain! I got to see it on the big screen at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco about 3 years ago and it was still good.
Glad you got to meet the creator of the movie and that it was such a good experience for you.

Hot in Cleveland? No, at least not today. It rained and rained and rained from Indianapolis to Cleveland. No, my adventure doesn't end here. It's just a rest stop at a hotel with wonky wifi. I am forced to use a computer in the business center.
I wanted to take some pictures but it rained buckets all the way here and there wasn't much to see anyway.
I couldn't say anything before but now I can say I've flown the coop. Indianapolis is hundreds of miles behind me. Never going back. Starting a new life, finally. But where will I end up? Stay tuned...
And Jeff, that is not an ice pack but a replica of the sphere from Phantasm.
Looking back at these photos again, I'm struck by how sometimes the simplest things can be a big deal. Sometimes just feeling like a regular person is so incredibly exhilarating.
I love you man!!! A couple of hundred miles already so your on schedule. Man I would fall to the ground at the next rest stop and kiss the earth. I'm speechless. Wow the horrors last night and the happiness this night.
Shit it's an exhilarating experience for me too.
Be safe on the rest of the trip. I hope you left a note for your mother that you won't be over for dinner .
Peace, Rainbows, Love & Healing <3 XOXO Jeff

According to the AAA Tourbook, Syracuse has 145,170 people. In 1570, the area was chosen to be the capital of the Iroquois Confederacy. Syracuse was founded in 1805. For some time it was the primary source of salt for the entire earth.
A not so fun fact: WTF with all the toll roads? I've taken two toll roads already and I'm only in Syracuse. The first toll road was $3.15. The second toll road, which I will need to get back on when I leave, cost $6.65.
But look at what the highest fee is for that road.
It's been a tiring trip. So much traffic, which I suppose is partly due to it being a holiday weekend. And I haven't driven this far in 3 years. Also, kitty is not amused.
No, this is not my final destination. I'll post an update tomorrow. After I travel the rest of that frickin' toll road. I think Indiana got rid of its toll roads decades ago. I always thought having to pay for driving a road was about as silly as having to pay to use the toilet. (Remember those?) I could crawl under a stall door but there's no way around having to pay to drive in New York.
