Okay hey this is a message to all you guys who have read my posts before. And I guess to posterity ...nothing I can do about that.

I've been online since the year 1998 or so. I'm not big on fake identities or pretending to be other people. But in the interest of social lubricant..., I have at times misrepresented myself in minor ways.

When I first joined the site I was so anxious and nervous about being liked. Even though I haven't wrestled since junior high school I put that my interest was wrestling. I could probably still take someone down but its really just nothing more than a fabrication.

On top of that I used the name Dan. To me this is a name that represents masculinity and simplicity: two things I really want to be known for. But in fact it's also the name that I used back in the day for hooking up.

Now everytime I sign that name I feel regret and remorse. Im not here to impress anyone or hook up.

So I really need to change it.

Sorry for the confusion but from now on please refer to me as Michael or just gold. The name Michael has special meaning for me positive sense. Its what I was called until the time of my abuse when for some reason all of my members changed their nicknames. The reason was because my mom was changing back to her maiden name, my two older brothers to changed their nicknames and so I changed mine too. Sometimes I feel like Michael is the real me. It is my middle name. (In public, i go by my first name. The name of my grandfather whose worldview i am still so at odds with.) So im done playin.

Anyway. Nice to meet you all. I'm Michael.

i like that name.
it has value built in.

gold is the first metal mentioned in the bible.

genesis 2:11 & 12
where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good

Michael, very pleased to meet you. I am bill, but my friends call me... bill... and I sometimes sign my name... bill. Glad you are here. And be not shy. Your experiences and opinions are already making a tremendous impact on others.

b... bill....
For now we see through a glass, darkly.

Michael - my favorite archangel - who defeats satan

Gold - Robert Frost says "nothing gold can stay."

i hope that is not true and that you will stick around.

"That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. . . What will your verse be?" Robin Williams as John Keating in "Dead Poets Society"
