Two presidents were born in Vermont: Calvin Coolidge and Chester Arthur. Coolidge is apparently held in higher regard because basically his entire town has been preserved whereas Arthur's birthplace is just a replica of his childhood home with no artifacts.
Here I am at the Calvin Coolidge site.
There were plenty of artifacts from Coolidge's days.
Here is an old sled.
This is a Ford model T circa 1923.
Here's a hearse from 1885.
This is a Concord coach. Not sure of the year but they apparently started making them in 1827.
The town church.
An old gas pump from when gas was 11 cents per gallon.
The dance hall
Closeup of the instruments.
Catcher's mask from 1920.
