It is indeed a regular marriage license. I'm now legally married in the state of Vermont.
Took some pics today.
This is the Vermont statehouse.
This is Main Street in downtown Montpelier. Pretty small, but I like it.
Today I went to the Green Mountain Coffee Café & Visitor Center
. There were various displays explaining where coffee beans come from and so on. I had a slight buzz when I left after drinking several coffee samples. I forgot to take photos but the website will give some details.
I also visited one of the Cabot cheese
There were various samples and I tried most. I had never tried that brand before and it's really good. Well, not all. But I really liked the Colby Jack. They also have some sour cream dips. I tried the salsa one and it was yummy.Lake Champlain chocolates
had a store in the same parking lot across from Cabot. All the places I visited today are in Waterbury.
Supposedly there were samples but all I saw was one little sliver of chocolate. It was good though. It should; I think most chocolates were $20-$30 per pound.
I really liked Cold Hollow Cider Mill
, my final stop for the day.
They had cider and cider donuts that were insanely delicious. I sampled their unsweetened apple butter which was also pretty good.
There's a lot to do here and I will try to do most if not all of them before winter, though I hear there's some great winter activities here as well.
I just really feel liberated after leaving Indiana. I still have a lot of the same struggles but I have a sort of liberated feeling. I know it may sound weird, or maybe not, but it feels safer to be 900 miles away from my abusers. Before I left Indiana, I was so freaked that I was constantly checking outside my window. I'm still vigilant about the locks, but I don't feel that I need to look outside my window for any possible danger. That's progress I think.
