this could be big.

Brazil Looks To Break From US centric Internet

"Given that the former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden revealed that United States has been snooping on many countries around the world, as well as that of Brazil has really made the Brazilian government to think seriously about divorcing itself from the US centric infrastructure of the Internet."
"Because of this, in a very recent move President Dilma Rousseff has ordered a series of measures to create a form of Brazilian Internet independence and security."

"Brazil plans to divorce itself from the U.S.-centric Internet over Washington's widespread online spying, a move that many experts fear will be a potentially dangerous first step toward fracturing a global network built with minimal interference by governments."

Brazil's ban on U.S. Internet services may prove futile

"Experts doubt that Brazil's proposed efforts at cutting digital ties with the U.S. will actually keep the NSA at bay."

Friends,

We all come together here to support one another on our healing journeys. By definition, this requires interaction and trust - both of which can be difficult or even frightening to survivors, under the best of circumstances.

Because interaction is important, we encourage posters to construct messages which other survivors can engage in a true dialogue, allowing for an exchange of ideas and shared experience. And because trust is important, we encourage posters to avoid making sweeping generalizations that condemn other users based on political, ethnic, sexual, or other group-based background. With that in mind, we feel this thread has run its course and so we are closing it. We welcome any MaleSurvivor poster who has an interest in the issues brought up in this thread to continue discussing it if they wish - but in a format conducive and responsive to dialogue, and that does not cast aspersions on other users (or rely on source material that does) based on personal background issues unrelated to the subjects of abuse and recovery.

In all such discussions, we wish to re-emphasize that MaleSurvivor is meant to be a healing environment for people who have already suffered far too much trauma and confusion. It is counterproductive to the ideals of healing to repeatedly depict a world full of inescapable all-powerful conspiracies, from which survivors could never be safe, here or anywhere else. MaleSurvivor is a haven where survivors can come to repair, to cleanse, to calm their troubled, chaotic thoughts. The path to healing begins with the survivor's internal thoughts and feelings becoming calm and balanced; continuing to perpetuate anxious and fear-filled thoughts can hinder this. Please try to focus on the depth and resilience of our own reserves, so as to best bring comfort to ourselves and our community.

Thank you,

The ModTeam
