ok

I'm in.

First Breakfast - Handfull of Almonds, Banana and a glass of water (dairy farmer up early)

Real Breakfast - 6 eggs (whole) omelette, no oil, tiny bit of salt (can't be bothered separating the whites out and it tastes better with the yokes in)

snacks - apple, carrot, more almonds

Lunch - Tuna sandwich on pumpkin and 5 seed bread

afternoon tea - chocolate bar and a 600ml bottle of coke (oops I went shopping in town)

Dinner - Honey Mustard Chicken - Chicken breast, Rice and vegies.

Exercise - just walking on the farm. Walked probably 10km.

I am generally in pretty good shape but since starting recovery about 12 months ago I stopped exercising completely (crunches, pushups etc) and have lost my 6 pack. Definitely not as 'tight' as I used to be. I also eat way too much chocolate and coke.

I was feeling down yesterday- problems in work, and had to have a drink to chill out, and similarly today. It was either that or blowing up and causing a "shit-storm".

I need to avoid falling into a spiral, and I think keeping up with my exercise could be the best thing.

Lee, glad you are joining in too. It's so unfair how much hard work it takes to get a 6 pack, compared to how fast it is to lose it if you stop working out.

Today I woke up at 8:10am. But only because my aunt was yelling at me about getting up early and getting a job. I went back to bed when she left for work. Till 11am. I'll get a job or find something to do eventually. After yesterdays mess up with breakfast I was going to make something easy. Instead I ended up making the worlds biggest breakfast and it was very awesome. I made an edible lunch and dinner was the same as yesterday. Later I had porridge oats and almond milk Ė which is the most useless thing known to man. It only has something like 16 calories per 100ml. So you might as well drink water. Iím bored with food already. And today is an off day from exercise so Iím kind of bored altogether.

Another 3.5 mile run today. Diet today was/is the same, except for lunch. Today for lunch I had a turkey/ham sandwich with half a slice of pepper jack cheese.

Diet is going well today- i'm recording it all in writing in a new note-pad I bought for the purpose. I will write it down here later tonight.

Feeling positive about my exercise tonight (exercise A)! Going to really push myself!

Glad to see more and more people joining the team!!!

I also have a 6 pack dream, I am totally aiming for that!

My low-carb diet is continuing. I have bought ketosis test strips to make sure I'm staying on track -- these are designed for diabetics but work great for low-carb dieters. You hold the test strip in your urine stream, and it turns purple if you're in ketosis, which is where you want to be as a low-carb dieter. It means your body is expelling fat, which means it is not getting energy from the food you're eating, which means it is cannibalizing itself and feeding off your body's stored fat -- which is what you want.

Made it to yoga class today and did my first inversion: both legs up in the air as I rested on my neck and shoulders, then both feet over my head into the "plow" position. Some in the class could take their feet all the way to the floor, but I was lucky just to not make a fool of myself doing it.

I, too, have a dream of a six-pack, and for the first time in my life, it is within reach. If I lose 15 more pounds and continue with yoga, crunches, and walking or swimming -- I'm there.

Breakfast: 4 Weetabix
Lunch: pasta, some peanuts
Dinner: chips, chicken, curry (not so good)

Exercise done between 9.30pm-10.50pm

Yoga sounds cool! I've never done that, although I can get both my legs behind my neck (at least I could a couple of years ago).

So what are your thoughts on how to get a six-pack? my idea is first just work on the muscle, then afterwards, once you think you have done enough, try to lose the fat to get the definition. But how do you get rid of stomach fat, just cardio and diet?

My day was not too bad. I canít remember when I woke up. I think it was 10.

Breakfast Ė porridge with some random fruit and nuts thrown in.
Lunch Ė noodle stir fry
Dinner Ė baked tofu, mashed potato, broccoli, carrots and gravy.
Snack Ė more porridge

I didnít calorie check it but I think itís probably less than I was aiming for. Worked out, day 3. Squat 25kg, bench 22.5kg and barbell row 32.5kg. I hate barbell rows. They make you look stupid. Itís progressive loading, adding 2.5kg every time, so itís not very difficult yet. (or impressive)

Not sure the best way to get a 6 pack. I know the P90X program makes you do the low carb diet first to burn fat off, but I think it makes more sense to that at the end of the program when youíve actually got some defined muscles. I donít know if there is any way to get rid of only stomach fat. I think fat just comes off wherever it wants to.

I feel starved today. We're at the end of the grocery cycle--meaning we were out of just about everything until my wife went shopping today.

Breakfast: Bran flakes and raisins
Lunch: Toasted cheddar cheese on wheat
Dinner: Mediterranean quinoa salad---a vegetarian recipe my wife tried out tonight.

Exercise: weights---
barbell work---bench press
dumbbells---hammer curls, shoulder shrugs, triceps extensions, back flys

Starving Will
