Why are so many people leaving all at once?

This is triggering me.

Hey,

The number of people leaving MS is rather disconcerting. If it's because they have healed to the point where they are ready to make a leap, then I congratulate them. If it's something else, I hope the community can identify the problem and rectify it. Regardless, I wish our brothers well.

there are deaths, illnesses, crises, etc. that we are not aware of.

you come here for a while.
you leave for a while.

sometimes you read.
sometimes you post.

there seems to be fresh members almost every day.
it would make sense that some people actually recover to the point where they move on.

some might just be happy, and don't need MS.org anymore.
isn't that the goal? to get beyond this?

recovery comes in stages, phases, and waves.

i go away for years between visits, sometimes.
i never posted anything other than my survivor story until recently, and i joined about ten years ago.

although there are 11,409 Registered Users, there seems to be relatively little action.

Sorry, trying to post with my phone on my lunch break which I hate doing. Just wanted to echo Dave's sentiment while I had a sec though. Peace,

Ken

in a perfect world, we would all be leaving.
we would not need to be here.

While I am still here I don't post or read as much as I did before. I come back because I have nothing better to do with my time. I found that being here (and another site) was hurting me more than helping after a while. While I have a way to go for my "recovery" I would be best off doing more of the things that I liked to do, had an interest in, before my bad period. It could be in six months I may not check in at all.

I think the level of people leaving might have more to do with the number of people that joined at a specific period of time. A larger number may have joined at the same time and may have left at about the same time. This kind of this can come and go in waves. I would not be too concerned about it.

I don't know gents, but it almost appears to me that something is snow-balling. I would encourage folks to perhaps make it a short break from the site and see how you feel in a few days. I've been on the site for some years, and for sure I've needed to step back now and then for a break. It's a healthy approach to step back for a few days, do some refreshing activities, then see how it looks after some days have passed. We've also had to deal with the loss of two fellow survivors, which loss also takes time to heal. Just my humble take on things.
